Infinite Possibilities

It’s that time of year again when Facebook is flooded with back-to-school pictures, trying to capture the memories and milestones of growing up. All of those faces capture the full range of emotions: excitement, anxiousness, determination, uncertainty, hope, fear, anticipation, and potentiality. Each first day of school speaks to fresh starts and new adventures. Deep within these moments is the seed of infinite possibilities. What awaits us in the days ahead? What can we learn and discover? Who will we meet? Where will we go? What will we accomplish?

As adults, it is easy for us to lose sight that we can always start a new chapter in our lives. We often let the daily routines wear us down physically and mentally. We put away our childlike mindset and forget to look for the wonder and hope in each day. Yes, life is hard, there is pain, and somedays it feels overwhelming. But if we can look up, seek help when needed, and take the next step, it is possible to reclaim each day with intentionality and purpose.

It’s like opening a box of new crayons. When we see the broad spectrum of colors, smell the waxy freshness, and feel the crisp edges, it stirs the creative powers within us. When we close our eyes and imagine what could be, it empowers us to embrace the moment and work toward something meaningful. We all have within us the ability to choose how we embrace the day. We can decide to believe in the infinite possibilities before us. We just need to do so.
